Backerkit Surveys Are Coming!
over 7 years ago – Wed, Jan 11, 2017 at 08:57:09 PM

Team: in a few moments, you'll be receiving an email with a special link to your Backerkit survey! We will need your response in order to sent you your rewards, so please be sure to fill it out!

Here's what you need to know:

1) The email will go to the address associated with your Kickstarter account (or your Facebook account, if you log into Kickstarter using Facebook). If you don't get it by the end of today, please let me know!

2) You will not need to sign up for any sort of backerkit account. All you have to do is click the link and fill out the survey, and you are good to go! You'll be able to provide your shipping address (which you can update later if you need to), and also indicate which (if any) add-ons you intended to get.

3) You can also purchase additional add-on items beyond what you originally pledged for, if you would like! All our books are available, as well as shirts, gilded bonus packs, and our two remaining higher tier one-off art commissions. Backerkit will bill you for any additional add-ons in March.

4) If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing in early March.

5) The one thing you will not be asked to do via Backerkit is indicate your custom art requests for your bookplates, avatars, or custom art commissions. I will be contacting you separately in the near future to collect your custom art requests!

Backerkit is an awesome set of tools for managing backer info and add-ons, and we had a great experience when we used it for the previous Sam and Fuzzy Omnibus campaign. But as always, let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks, everyone!

Additional Artist Edition Bookplates, and new Stretch Goals!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Dec 27, 2016 at 09:03:01 PM

Astonishingly, the time has come again to announce more stretch goals! So here they are, team:

If we hit 50k, the gilded bonus pack will be augmented yet again with a third 4x6" print, featuring Baker the Corgi's ever-popular Is It Food comic

And if we hit 53k, a new bonus chapter will be added to Volume 5, featuring excepts from Malcolm's conspiracy blog! Malcolm's blog will detail his in-depth investigations into the secret history of Mr. Sin and the mysterious space gophers. V5 is a very Sin-centric book, so I think it'd be an interesting corner of the lore to dig into, especially in Malcolm's... uh... unique voice.

Additional Artist Edition Bookplates

A number of folks buying our Artist Edition book sets -- which come with a custom-drawn bookplate in the inside cover of Missing Inaction -- have been asking if it's possible to get additional custom bookplates for the other books in the set. The answer, starting now, is yes!

If you are backing at the ARTIST ED. Hardcover Volumes 1-5 tier or higher, you can now upgrade your order to include an extra 2 custom bookplates! That will give you three bookplates in total... one for each of the three hardcover books that collect 1-5!

To upgrade, all you have to do is add an extra $55 to your pledge. When the campaign is over, we'll ask what the extra money is for, and you can say "MORE BOOKPLATES!"

For now, I'm limiting this add-on to a max of two extra bookplates per backer, and to folks backing the Artist Ed. Hardcover 1-5 set or higher. Just making sure I don't over-commit to more bookplates than I can draw in a timely fashion!

Oh, and one last thing... if you are backing any of our high end ART COLLECTOR, OTP, SAUCY HIPPO or CAMEO tiers, don't worry about adding on extra bookplates. You will be getting your extra two bookplates for free, as my way of saying thanks for backing at such a high level.

One week remains, friends. Let's see where this crazy ride takes us!

The final 3 days!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Dec 27, 2016 at 09:02:53 PM

It's true... we're down to the last three days of the campaign. And so much has been happening! Our 47k and 50k stretch goals have been thoroughly conquered, securing fancy spine ribbon bookmarks for all our hardcover books and a new Is It Food bonus print for all our Gilded packs. We're also half-way to our 53k goal, which would add a bonus chapter to volume 5 featuring excerpts from Malcolm's Conspiracy Blog and his research into Mr. Sin and the Space Gophers. So what's next?

If we hit 55k, I'll expand Malcolm's blog to include sections about the secret history of Mr. Rexford, too! And so help me, should we be lucky enough to do even better than that, I will do even more fun bonus stuff. That is what I'm here for, after all.

Rewards Round-Up

We've introduced a few new rewards and add-ons as the campaign has progressed, so if you'll all indulge me a pinch, I thought I might quickly sum them up here in case folks missed them!

Additional Artist Edition Bookplates are now available as an add-on! If you are backing at the Artist Edition Hardcover Volumes 1-5 tier or higher, you can get an extra two custom-drawn bookplates (in addition to the one that already comes with your tier) by adding an extra $55 to your existing pledge.

A pair of new one-of-a-kind original art tiers have also been added since the campaign began:

-The Cybear Collector tier gets you the original art for the big "Cybear Monday" piece I drew based on backer suggestions earlier in the campaign.

-The Saucy Hippo tier allows you to call the shots on a custom-drawn pin-up and comic featuring the character of your choice performing one of my (in)famous "comic burlesque" routines, similar to the ones found in my Headcanon II pin-up art book!

There are also still some slots available for the Commissioner of Fate tier and the unprecedentedly dangerous wildcard that is the OTP Commissioner tier, if either of those are more your speed!

Thank you, everyone, for all your incredible support. I am super stoked to make these books, and can't wait to see where these last few days take us!

Two days to go!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Dec 27, 2016 at 09:02:51 PM

Wow! You guys sure do like destroying stretch goals, don't you? And there are still two days left! You leave me no choice. Here are some more!

At 57k and 60k, I'll add a new bonus comic and bonus art gallery chapter to Volume 5, respectively. The former is something I have a fun idea for, and the later is something I've wanted to include in a book for a while now, so I'm delighted these things are even on the table! Plus, I've got a few favourite illustrations that I feel like would be particularly thematically relevant to this book.

All right... down to the final 48 hours! GO TEAM

-Sam

PS: If you're checking back in for the first time since the start of the campaign, be sure to check out our previous update! It sums up some of the new tiers and add-ons that we've added since the campaign began, like extra artist edition custom bookplates, original "Cybear Monday" artwork and custom burlesque comics.

The Home Stretch
over 7 years ago – Tue, Dec 27, 2016 at 09:02:50 PM

This is it... the final day of the campaign! Thank you again to everyone who helped get us this far. It's been a wild ride!

With the bonus Butcher & Baker strip goal now left in the dust behind us, we are now creeping up on our 60k stretch goal! If we hit it, I'll add a fun bonus Art Gallery chapter to Volume 5. (And man, should we manage to get even beyond that, I will just have to make up one last fittingly cool final addition, won't I?)

A couple of other notes for the home stretch!

1) Starting at 5pm Pacific Time, I'll be streaming on my Twitch channel, doing some drawing while we count down the final 120 minutes of the campaign. Feel free to come hang out with me and other backers as we watch the clock tick to zero!

2) Since it's our FINAL DAY, I've dropped the prices of our two remaining highest original art tiers, the Saucy Hippo and the OTP (by $50 and $100 respectively). I know a few of you have been interested in these, and for the good of raising fundage for these pretty books, I'm ok with being a little extra flexible.

17 hours to go, friends! GO TEAM
